About Bruce Henderson:

Client and customer focused for many years from my time as Bargemaster on floating accommodation units to being first point of contact for customers in my currant roll.

Experience

As an experienced leader in the maritime industry, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise in project management, operational oversight, and risk mitigation to my role as a Marine Support Assistant.

During my tenure as a Bargemaster at Bibby Maritime, I was pivotal in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a high-footfall floating hotel. Under my leadership, I supervised multiple teams, ensuring seamless coordination and adherence to project specifications during shipyard refits. Notably, I spearheaded the commissioning of a barge on the Barrow Island project in Australia, navigating through complex logistical challenges and managing a sensitive petrochemical environment with utmost diligence. My commitment to excellence in health and safety has been a cornerstone of my career. I played a key role in enhancing the company's reputation by completing thorough investigations and proactively ensuring compliance with stringent safety protocols. Moreover, my negotiation skills have fostered positive relationships with senior management and union representatives, resulting in successful recruitment initiatives and improved employee retention.

Before my role as a Bargemaster, I brought my leadership skills to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary as an Electrical & Mechanical Engineer. In this capacity, I oversaw the global supply of goods and services to the Royal Navy, demonstrating adeptness in inventory management and safety procedures. My contributions extended to commissioning new vessels and spearheading projects for vessel reactivation, showcasing my ability to deliver results even in high-pressure environments.

Beyond my maritime roles, I have diversified my expertise in safety management and operational supervision. As a Site Inspector at ALM Safety, I conducted meticulous safety inspections in care homes, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and fostering a secure environment for residents and staff. Additionally, my experience as an Office and Compliance Supervisor at SEM Energy equipped me with valuable insights into logistics management and preventative maintenance programs. Throughout my career, I have pursued continuous learning and development, earning certifications in various fields such as NEBOSH, COSHH Regulations, and workplace risk assessment.
