About Crisbian floyde:

In my 20 plus years of experience in the Telecom sector I have worked with the following technologies in the following arenas and some of the cost savings I have obtained for my employers:

  • Telecom Technologies – 3G, 4G, 5G, Fibre B to B (both domestically and on an international level, PSTN, VOIP, Software Defined Networks, Voice recording (MIFID 2), MDM,  MNO, Dark Fibre 
  • Telecom Procurement – I have been involved in negotiating and procuring telecom equipment, services and engineering resources on a global level. This means I have had to be aware of and conform to EBA (European Banking Authority) regulations, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and MIFID2 (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive). In the last 10 years my total spend on Telecoms is close to $400 Million USD. When procuring Telecoms I have had to construct Commercial contracts, Commercial terms and conditions, Statement of works, Request for Quotes/Works/Purchases, including conducting E-Auctions.
  • Telecom Expense/Estate Management – Controlling the billing and procurement of telecom estates to a value of $370MM USD, including constructing commercial agreements, purchasing, vendor management, cost forecasts, cost apportionment to a granular personnel level and stake holder management conducted over a global scale.
  • Telecom Vendor Management & Stakeholder relationship – I have managed stakeholders from engineering level to Board of Directors. I have also managed up to 52 Telecom vendors across the EMEA region at one time all very successfully. 
  • Telecoms legislation – I was on the MIFID II round table during 2014 partnering with the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and prominent voice recording pioneers in educating other banks and finance houses the implications of MIFID II when it would become law in 2017 and the ramifications of not being compliant. I also have experience of EBA and (European Banking Authority) and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) surrounding telecoms as well as Dodd, Franks for the USA. 
  • Project management – In 2001 I was part of the Global project management team for WorldCom that oversaw the rollout of telecoms equipment and upgrades across 1500 sites worldwide to a value of $1.6 Billion USD. 

I also have project managed smaller projects on both a domestic level and EMEA wide level from $100,000 to $270 MM USD for the following companies:

               Association of London Government (2004) = £2MM GBP

               Sainsbury (2003) = £20MM GBP

               Ford Motor Company (2006) = £200MM GBP

               Morgan Stanley (2019 – 2020) = $270MM USD

               These are just a few of the projects I have been involved in over the last 30 years.

  • Local Government/Civil Service – I have worked for Association of London Government, City of Police, Southend Borough Council.
  • Staff Management – I have experience of having 3 direct members of staff who I have been directly responsible for as well as indirectly up to 32 members of staff (Network engineers, category managers, legal etc.).
  • Stakeholder relationship management – In my career to date I have worked closely with all levels of personnel from apprentices to Seasoned engineers as well as office juniors right up to CEO level.  I have been both the Client and the provider and have always maintained excellent working relationships. In fact I have been fortunate enough for some of those relationships to turn into lifelong friendships.
  • Other skills and technologies - Over 30 years of working with Excel and Customer relationship Management databases. The ability to data mine from extremely large data sets. A long history of producing reports from simple dashboards to in depth project management plans and cost analysis. A history of producing, creating and designing SAAS systems.

Telecoms Circuits Program Delivery Manager EMEA

  • Working in close partnership with senior management, procurement, network services and vendor management to deliver telecom circuits to new and existing Amazon corporate sites across the EMEA region on a $500 MM USD infrastructure project.
  • Creating partnerships with the Firms business units to identify best practice solutions that would manage global costs and processes surrounding the acquisition of all Telecom/IT related goods and services during the COVID crisis to ensure as effect as possible to keep to Milestones.
  • Project managing and delivering rollouts of telecom services covering hardware, Network Services (EPL, DIA, Cell towers – Egypt, Microwave – Egypt, MPLS, Dark Fibre, Switch Networks, PSTN, Mobile etc) and Wireless sub categories across the EMEA region as part of the GREF IT management infrastructure, reporting into the EMEA Head of Telecom delivery.
  • Managing engineers for site visits, power downs, new installations and refurbishments.
  • Creating project plans for different stake holders.
  • Managing LOA’s (Letter of Authority) from carriers for Cross connects at data centres.
  • Arranging wayleaves for internal work and external civic works to be carried out.

  • working in close partnership with the businesses within Morgan Stanley and supports functions to identify and execute opportunities to manage expenses through strategic sourcing, demand management, process reengineering, procurement management and sales and use tax optimization
  • Creating partnerships with the Firms business units to identify best practice solutions that will manage global costs and processes surrounding the acquisition of all Telecom/IT related goods and services.
  • Managing complex sourcing/purchasing of Telco Services covering Hardware, Network Services (MPLS, Dark Fibre, Switch Networks, PSTN, Mobile etc) and Wireless sub categories across the EMEA region (and sometimes the Americas) for Firmwide Sourcing, reporting into the EMEA Head of Telecom Sourcing.
  • Working with internal clients and Stakeholders to gather business requirements quantify service levels identify deliverables and terms and conditions and delivering a solution to their business requirements
  • Soliciting competitive bids from multiple suppliers using sourcing tools such as the quoting process, electronic tender and/or reverse auction before evaluating/scoring bids from companies World Wide
  • Negotiating with suppliers on price, service levels, and scope of work and terms of business to achieve value for money for the company.

Telecom Expense Manager                                                                                         

  • Managing all telecom billing for the council and its subsidiaries across the Southend region
  • Analysis and presentation of data of council’s telecoms systems and contracts over the last 5 years. 
  • Obtaining a rebate for the council for the sum of £84,500 through bespoke analysis, plus £24.5k compensation, plus £40,000 a year savings on landlines and £36,000 a year on mobile telephony. 
  • Co-ordinating future WiMax/telecom Council run telecom initiatives within the community.
  • Implementing rollout of telecom equipment and services for the Council.
