I am a criminologist: researcher, lecturer and writer, and have lectured/researched at a number of universities across the U.K. I hold undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Law (1st Class LL.B. (Hons)) and Criminology (MPhil (Cantab)), and am a member of Lincoln's Inn, where I was called to the Bar in 2009. In May 2019 I was awarded my PhD in Criminology at Cambridge University. I have lectured Criminology at a number of universities including the University of Cambridge & the University of Suffolk, and have supervised Law at the University of Cambridge. I have delivered guest lectures at conferences across the U.K and internationally (e.g. Ireland & Hong Kong).

I completed my doctoral studies at the University of Cambridge, fully-funded by the ESRC(2012- 2016). 

I have a background in law and teaching, and have worked at several universities (see above) and high-street law firms (e.g. Leach, Rawlence & Hart Solicitors, Duncan Lewis Solicitors), and also worked as a self-employed tutor and researcher. I was previously a member of the Bar Council, and am a member of the  Free Representation Unit, where I am an accredited Social Security Advocate; I have successfully represented several claimants on a before the First-tier Social Security Tribunal. I am an accredited (probationary) IAAS caseworker, and hold a PGDip in Law.

I regularly write for academic journals as well as other publications. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as The Howard Journal of Crime and Justice, Youth Justice and Deviant Behaviour, and I have had op-eds published in the Guardian & the Independent.
