Dexter Conner

I am a recent graduate from the University of Liverpool with a BA in Geography (2:1, 68.5%). Alongside my degree, I worked as a Marketing Assistant; I served as Social Media Manager for West Midlands Football Club [Instagram: @WestMidsFC] and was proud to play for the University’s Hockey First Team.

I’m most effective as a positive and encouraging member of a team. I’m curious and open, tailoring my communication to the needs of the recipient and the goals of the project. Motivated to build on my experience in marketing, digital communication and social media management developed through my employment, degree course and voluntary roles. 

I have built experience across marketing, digital communication, and social media management through a combination of part-time, voluntary, and casual roles. As a Marketing Assistant at Squirrel ADHD Services, I created content, advised on strategy, managed scheduling, and provided website management and administrative support. I also served as Social Media Manager for West Midlands Football Club, developing a consistent brand identity, growing engagement, and managing communications with players and supporters. Additionally, I gained experience in audience outreach and promotional campaigns as a Brand Ambassador for Brickworks Properties. These roles have equipped me with practical skills in content planning, campaign optimisation, social media analytics, audience targeting, and digital advertising using tools such as Canva and WordPress.

I graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BA in Geography (2:1, Final Year Average: 68.5%). My first-class dissertation explored how online communities interact, with a focus on power dynamics and identity construction within social media spaces. This project strengthened my skills in research design, data analysis (quantitative and qualitative), and digital behaviour analysis. Prior to university, I studied at Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School, achieving A-levels in Geography (A*, awarded Tom Healy Geographer of the Year), Economics (A), and Biology (B).
