Childrens Mobility Engineer March 2024 - Present.
Working for Cornwall Equipment Loan Service to maintain, clean, collect and deliver children's disability equipment throughout Cornwall. My duties include liaising with Occupational Therapists on catering and customising the children's equipment to suit individual needs. Maintaining and cleaning equipment to a very high standard whilst following strict manufacturers guidelines, portable appliance testing requirements and pre-delivery inspection regulations. Carrying out on site repairs in safeguarded areas such as schools, nurseries, hospitals and colleges.
Water Sampling Technician- Febuary 2021 - March 2024
Working as a Water Sampling Technician for Nijhuis UK my role included basic field analysis to ensure representative samples were collected through the use of electronic or mechanical instruments(autosamplers and bottler units),with on site testing completed with implements such as temperature recorders, pH probes and salinity meters. To evaluative field judgments on whether samples represented the quality of the material being sampled. Samples were then delivered in a controlled envirnoment maintaining temperatures to laboratories across the South West adhering to chain of custody practices.
Self-Employed Painter&Decorator- December 2017- Feb 2021.
Self-Employed as a Painter and Decorator covering all aspects of interior/exterior painting and preparation. Working aloft from ladders and on scaffolding. Ordering and managing site materials. I was also responsible for site safety whilst working alone and souly responsible for maintaining positve relationship with clients and the general public.
Maintenance Operative- January 2012 - December 2017.
Employed by Falmouth Harbour Comissioners (FHC) to assist in the maintenance of FHC's infrastructure and assets including conservancy craft, moorings, navigational aids, pontoons, quays and buildings. Carry out patrols for the purpose of clearance and escort duty, regulation and enforcement. To assist as directed in any emergency & pollution response by FHC.
Licensed Boatman/Caretaker/Gardener- November 2007 – November 2011.
Working for the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club in Falmouth Harbour maintaining and servicing club boats, buildings, grounds and member's moorings. Operating the Club Launch which supplies a ferrying service to member’s yachts and co-ordination of Club VHF Radio for racing events, rescue boat management, navigating craft to moorings etc.
Security Guard- January 2006 – October 2007.
Working in shift patterns giving 24hr coverage on a very busy campsite. Duties included
covering front reception desk from the hours of 5pm until 10pm, dealing with
any inquires or help customers may require. To also patrol camp-site through out the
hours of darkness and deal with any incidents which were encountered.
Camp-site Representative- March 2004 – November 2005.
In charge of the day to day running of 30 tents and 10 mobile homes whilst representing the company at various camp-sites in the Loire and Picardy areas of France. This included a huge variety of responsibilities ranging from meeting and greeting clients, dealing with general enquires and complaints, sourcing local attractions and entertainment and the upkeep of accounts and accommodation rotas.
Apprentice Engineer- February 2002 – March 2004.
Training to become a Welder/Fabricator through extensive on the job day release at Cornwall College I gained a NVQ in General Engineering and all the Basic Engineering Competences.
Cadet/Deck Officer Trainee (Merchant Navy)- September 1994 – February 2002.
