Emma-leigh Ivey

I am a 27 year old mother of two based in the Torquay area. I am extremely hardworking individual who thrives working in a fast pace  environment. I have been in the insurance industry for the last 9 years where I have grown from a 17 year old sales advisor. To leading my own team. I am constantly wanting to push myself to learn more and take on new challenges. I lead by example and I’m never shy to get stuck in. I believe the most successful  leaders are the ones who are willing to experience every aspect of every role possible. 

I have been in the world of sales professionally for the last 9 years. I started working for an insurance brokers when I was 18. This job for me was a completely new environment that I knew nothing about. I started very nervous and unsure and have grown massively within myself and it’s provided me with so many different tools which has led me to finding what my true passion is and that’s management. I managed a team of 9 individuals to drive and push them in the best way possible to achieve targets and workloads which grew and became more challenging month on month. i had to motivate people when they were not performing so well and I found due to already having these experiences when being a sales advisor allowed me to provide new ideas and tools to help them become more confident. I found putting in the time to know my team helped the team dynamic and subsequently sales storm. Knowing what makes your people tick and what motivates them is so important.
