Hello,

I am a Masters in Public Health graduate with an undergraduate degree in Dentistry. In both my Masters and my Undergrad, I have had Statistics and Epidemiology as one of my main modules. And 1.5 years of clinical experience working as a dentist.

Throughout my academic journey, I have honed my expertise in conducting qualitative research, as demonstrated through my experience in academic writing, critical appraisal, systematic reviews, and data analysis. I have conducted three critical appraisals for my assignments at University- two in Epidemiology and one in Health Economics. My dissertation topic, “A Systematic Review of the Cost Effectiveness of Art Therapy in Treating Anxiety and Depression,” was an interesting foray into learning how to gather, analyse, interpret, and evaluate data. This experience further cemented my interest in Public Health research and my understanding of how to conduct an independent research project. Subsequently, data visualisation and interpretation were skills I acquired that allowed me to effectively present research findings to diverse audiences.

Working in a multidisciplinary team during my undergraduate studies and internship in dentistry has strengthened my abilities as a team player, enabling me to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues from various backgrounds. In 2019, I was a volunteer health educator at an orphanage in India and gave talks about oral and menstrual health to adolescents. Through these experiences, I developed key skills such as communication, organisation, and attention to detail, which I believe are essential for any research role. As a fast learner with a proven track record of handling complex and challenging projects, I am confident in managing and directing tasks effectively. I was recently awarded ‘Employee of the Quarter’ for demonstrating these skills at my current position at McDonald's. 

I believe that I can utilise and adapt my skills from my academic and work experiences to any field that I am working in.
