Humza Hameed

I am a recent BSc (Hons) Economics Graduate from QMUL, pursuing a career in financial analysis. During my academic journey, I have cultivated a strong interest in the complex systems utilised by businesses, whether within large or small-scale companies. Along with my strong skills in analysis and numerical ability, these are the factors that have driven my desire to work in financial analysis.

 

Internship Experience – Bright Network (Audit and Corporate Finance)                          Jul - Aug 2021

• Conducted comprehensive ‘PESTLE’ business analysis on mock car company and hence enhanced my business analytical skills
• Identified risks and proposed effective control measures, strengthening knowledge of business decision making
• Gained an in depth insight into general working life in audit and corporate finance, through numerous lectures from industry professionals
• Awarded certificate for analysis

Internship Experience – Bright Network (Business Marketing & Operations)                 Jul - Aug 2021

• Learned about Marketing and Operations from multinational businesses such as Amazon and Nestle
• Honed detailed knowledge of operating as model professional in corporate environment
• Presented business development style project, based on opening a flower shop, and developed both my corporate knowledge and presentation skills
• Conducted SWOT analysis to evaluate the suitability of the location of choice, and determined budgeting plans, honing my understanding of business decision-making and financial planning

Professional Consultancy (SCP) - Large Charity (‘With Compassion’)                                      Jun 2021 

• Collaborated effectively in group of 5, to assess the need for culturally tailored meals - honed my communication and group-working skills through frequent meetings and collaboration
• Researched data, and created graphs with Excel, accentuating need for more tailored meals
• Presented findings to ‘With Compassion’ (charity) head  – further strengthening my ability to present complex information under pressure
• Improved Operational Efficiency in charity food distribution – told by director we ‘nailed’ task briefing

BSc Economics, Queen Mary, University of London (2:1)                                                      2020 – 2023

• Dissertation – Wrote 7000 word dissertation on Climate Change mitigation and Economic Growth in a developing country
• Researched and evaluated vast academic literature, hence developing my analytical skills
• Managed time and organised project structure successfully, subsequently achieving grade of 63%
• Excel Group Project - Created mean-variance frontier to analyse raw stock data for portfolio (66%)
