Experienced in media creation and managing social media accounts.

I have a history of successfully and confidently both leading and working in teams within fast-paced environments. Working with people to help make a difference is one of my biggest passions, alongside creating. I have always tried to merge these two passions. This was something I really was able to explore when working at a summer camp in America, where I worked with kids to make some of their wildest fantasies a reality. We threw peas from a tree house at a giant map of the world, built a man out of carpet, had a viking funeral, and walked blind folded through the woods just to name a few. 

In my work at the charity Yellow Submarine, I was lucky enough to be able to support the charity in multiple ways, through the youth work, and for creating media for and the running of our social media channels on several different platforms, I made videos detailing the charity's work, and really strove to capture everything the charity represented, fun, acceptance, and community. This really came to a head over lockdown when a majority of the staff were furloughed and I took on the responsibility of keeping the activities side of the charity afloat on line. This involved live streams, video creation, creating fundraising campaigns, writing newsletters and maintaining mailing lists. A part of this process was using analytics tools to see the best times for engagement on our posts to maximise the outreach and engagement to keep our service users engaged with us during the difficult time, especially as routine had gone out of the window! A large part of my role was communicating with service users and their families, and our sessional staff and volunteers and doing so in a way which was accessible and clear.

Another part of my role included planning events, such as our 10 year birthday party, funraising events such as a quiz and a charity auction, and when I worked for the council's youth service I would organise live music events including day long festivals. This included creating promotional material for the events.

Content creation is a passion of mine outside of work too, something I have been doing since I was a teenager myself, I have always had a strong interest in. I love learning about different techniques and technologies to create new and different things. Over lockdown I live streamed (almost) every day providing young people with different activities and challenges, and I learnt a lot from the experience, leading me on to start live streaming myself. I also love creating videos and images, and have done so for every workplace I have been in even though it hasn't been specifically my role, plus in my own time too, including pieces for local events and a major research project looking to improve the lives of disabled people in care. I produced a succesful podcast about disability, and guests included Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Adam Pearson, Sally Phillips, Rosie Jones and more! I am also having writing published in the Pod Bible Magazine which goes out with the Sunday Times once a month.
