Transportation / Logistics
About Jack Richardson:
I am a self-motivated and driven individual with a proven track record of managing and driving teams to achieve objectives. I can offer high levels of concentration and focus to any situation or job role. I am extremely enthusiastic in my job and enjoy working alongside likeminded individuals. I have a passion for leading people towards a common goal and relish in motivating team members whilst discovering what drives them.
I have strong rapport building skills and I couple these with excellent organisation and planning skills to deliver projects within set timeframes, to a high standard and on budget. I also demonstrate my logistic and people management skills on a daily basis working as the single fleet runner in a 170 car Enterprise Rent-a-car branch.
I am hardworking, adaptable and enjoy being challenged in every aspect of my work. I am seeking an opportunity at a company which will allow me to develop my current skill set and contribute to the business as much as possible.
Experience
Assistant Branch Manager – Enterprise Rent-A-Car
04/2022 – Present
Responsibilities & Achievements
At Enterprise I have developed from being a Management Trainee from April 2022 into an Assistant Manager within 13 months (appointed April 2023).
My current responsibilities can be broken down into 4 parts: Management of Customer Service and Operations, Human Resource Management, Sales and Marketing/Financial Performance, Fleet Management and Maintenance.
My main day to day responsibility is to oversee customer service within the branch and constantly develop and maintain an operational plan. This coupled with problem solving effectively and balancing both a sustained growth in revenue and a highly recognised customer experience. I mentor, train and develop new staff and provide constructive feedback in order to develop a winning team on a daily basis. This can be in the form of reviews and recommending actions to the Branch Manager.
I am the main source for driving sales and marketing efforts within the branch from introducing new body shops or garages to attaining as many vehicle bookings as possible, which in turn grows both the fleet size and revenue.
As part of running a multi-million-pound fleet, I consistently evaluate fleet utilisation to ensure as a branch we have the most vehicles on rent as possible in order to drive revenue. This involves having a ‘Yes’ mentality meaning never turning down a rental booking and managing the fleet in a way that allows adaption and fluidity.
I have a fascination with the rental car industry and the many levels to it, I feel I have evolved in many aspects of my career at Enterprise and learnt how to navigate high pressure situations effectively.
Associate Project Manager, DXC Technology
02/2019 – 04/2022
Responsibilities & Achievements
At DXC Technology I worked on the BAE Systems account where I deliver a wide complexity of projects and have completed a wide variety of tasks. I have delivered projects from £2,500 - £300,000 from the concept phase to closure, this has totalled over £1m in company revenue. Working on a UK secure account has given me valuable experience of following processes meticulously and efficiently. I held BPSS security clearance allowing me to work on ‘OFFICIAL’ level government projects.
Some examples of projects I have delivered include application upgrades to multiple users at the clients’ head office, server upgrades, site wide power downs, office moves/builds and the planning and installation of site wide network infrastructure. I have relationships with all vendors, other 3rd parties and senior client stakeholders. On a daily basis I lead start-up meetings, track timelines and update clients on project status.
As well as delivering my own variety of projects I have also provided project support to senior PM's on larger pieces of work, these include the BAE Systems Export control program which required all secure network systems to be upgraded in order for them to be GDPR compliant. I was exposed to multi-million pound projects with many vendors and stakeholders all working for the same outcome. I have learned how to properly communicate on a large scale and how valuable relationship building with different stakeholders is.
During my time at DXC technology I worked on both Fixed Price and Time & Materials projects. I have gained my APM PMQ certification as well as a foundation in Agile Project Management. On top of this I achieved an Associate Project Management Level 4 (Foundation Degree) qualification.
Outbound Call Centre Operative, ST&R
09/2018 - 01/2019
Responsibilities & Achievements
ST&R is an insurance broker in which there were two teams. There is the Sales team and the Outbound team. At ST&R I had to develop and refine my rapport building skills to be as sharp and effective as possible to gain an understanding of a person's needs within seconds of them answering the phone. I utilised this fast rapport building skill during my Project Management apprenticeship and it was invaluable when it came to engaging with engineers or managing expectations with clients or vendors. After working at ST&R I feel equipped to talk to anyone and be able to build rapport quickly. I also feel much more resilient and able to take whatever a role could throw at me, allowing me to consistently do my best to step up to the task and deliver a result.
