About Jessica Cherag-Zade:
I have 7+ years of experience leading choirs, teaching singing and working with both children and adults. I have a BMus(hons) in music performance and a Rockschool Level 3 teaching certificate. I have completed the first year of a masters in music therapy at Guildhall which will resume in April. I'm currently enrolled to start in September with Tri-borough( (although I've worked with them previously) and Hackney music service.
My most recent project has been leading choirs with Pan intercultural arts charity which is a choir for women who have escaped trafficking. This involved multicultural music and using my music therapy skills with choir leading. I am also working with stagecoach teaching vocal lessons as well as private lessons. I am very interested in working with children with SEN and emotional needs.
I worked full time as a choir director in Wales for 2 years with Rock Choir running 5 choirs a week for up to 350 people.
Since moving to London I have been working freelance as a choir director, which lead to me starting a business running choirs for vulnerable people ; mental health, dementia and people from disadvantaged backgrounds. My projects are funded by Westminster Council , Paddington Development Trust and Open Age Charity and I have also done work with the Lyric Theatre and Tri-Borough Music Hub. I have also worked with 'love 2 sing' choir.
I have a strong passion for helping people through music and feel strongly about the benefits with well-being of singing in a choir. I have developed a reputation for being someone that is encouraging, excellent at improving confidence, I have a big personality and an abundance of enthusiasm.
Please contact me for links and videos of my work.
