I am a certified CDP/IDM GDPR Data Protection professional with a good working knowledge of the administrative procedures relevant to the application of UK/EU Privacy Law, Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulation 2004, in Information Governance, Security and Assurance.

I have a legal background with a Master’s degree in International Law.

I have extensive knowledge and experience working with Local Authorities and Public Sector organisation, and able to manage all information governance activities to ensure that the organisation meets its statutory obligations and acts within established policies. Providing effective advice and support to staff and members of the organisation, consistent and effective information governance policies. I am able to perform in a timely manner all issues relating to the protection of personal and sensitive information. 

My duties as an Information Governance Officer, includes and not limited;

Advise on how data (metadata) is captured correctly through distribution and communication of IG Policy and assisted in the development of procedures.

Support with the implementation procedures for monitoring and reporting data issues.

Monitoring personnel and business procedures to ensure they are in alignment with Information Governance policy and procedures.

Participate in the application/deployment of data policies, processes and their continued enforcement which include areas such as data quality, data access and data retention.

Support the data quality guidance and direction and its application throughout the entire data lifecycle.

Follow the guidelines related to Information Governance and data quality to ensure clear accountability.
