Katy Alison O'Donnelly

Having lived in Dubai for 16 years and been very active in the PE department at Jumeriah English Speaking School I am interested in the post of Sports Coach at JESS Jumeriah.  I know how important this role is in supporting the department staff assisting with behind the scenes organising, admin and creating PE notice boards as well as encouraging the pupils and helping at fixtures. I believe I am suited for this role as I am organised, dedicated, and eager to learn. I have a friendly and outgoing personality and a positive attitude which I believe will be of benefit in any role I undertake.

Working in the Kids club at David Lloyds club includes delivering classes such a arts and crafts, athletics, scooter club and many more to kids aged 3-10. This has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone of teaching one sport and let me develop my sporting knowledge and teach children new skills while allowing them to have fun.

Working alongside a PE department allowed me to grow my knowledge and confidence of sports such as badminton, volleyball and football and be able to teach them confidently to secondary school students confidently. Being in a high school also allowed me to see more behind the scenes of what planning and organisation the PE department go through so that all classes and fixtures run smoothly.
