Transportation / Logistics
About Landon Rutledge:
I’m an MSc student at University College London, with a strong focus on GIS, spatial analysis, and climate resilience. My work spans transportation infrastructure risk modeling, geospatial programming, and environmental data analytics. I’ve contributed to research with the DARe Hub on enhancing freight network resilience and have hands-on experience in both academic and applied GIS roles. Passionate about using spatial data to solve real-world problems, I enjoy building tools and insights that drive smarter, more sustainable decision-making.
Experience
I have professional experience in geospatial analysis, transportation resilience research, and GIS data management. As a Research Assistant with the DARe Hub, I support the development of risk assessment tools for freight networks impacted by extreme weather. Previously, I worked as a GIS Technician at ASRC Federal, where I performed parcel analysis, data validation, and mapping using ArcGIS. I also have field experience in surveying and asset data collection. My work combines spatial thinking, technical precision, and real-world impact.
Education
I am currently pursuing an MSc in Geographic Information Science and Computing at University College London, where my research focuses on climate resilience and spatial risk modeling for transportation systems. My coursework has emphasized geospatial programming, spatial-temporal data analysis, and database management. I also hold a B.S. in Geographic Science with a concentration in GIS from James Madison University, where I developed a strong foundation in cartography, remote sensing, and environmental studies.
