I aspire to establish a career in the animal care industry by developing my career by getting experience in a practice and gaining the knowledge and experiences I need to succeed.

I have previous shop floor experience with clients and over 3 years of taking bookings and managing appointments aswell as cleaning in a barber shop. I work very well in a team aswell as on my own, skills I developed greatly during my charity volunteering work and day to day life.

I have great confidence with people and a massive passion for animals in addition to 3 a-levels and 9 GCSE’s aswell as 3 years of previous employment and veterinary work experience.

BARBER’S ASSISTANT, PURE BARBERS INC.

My role is to provide efficient routine upkeep of the shop and to maintain a hygienic and safe environment for the employees and customers alike.

In addition; I have over 3 years of front of house experience with both booking in person and over the phone bookings using the reserva program.  a number of clients are elderly and struggle with the use of the  internet so it is my job to take phone call bookings for them and furthermore some of our customers have heavy accents and this is something I’m used to overcoming on an almost daily basis.

22ND JULY – 26TH JULY 2019

WORK EXPERIENCE WEEK AT AVENUE   VETERINARY CENTRE

I had a 5 day week of experience in which I attended multiple veterinary consultations and saw how they worked alongside the clients and the patients.

In addition, I also sat in on multiple nurse consultations which gave me a very useful insight into the role of a nurse and got to communicate with the clients in addition to friendly conversation throughout the week. Furthermore, I attended over 12 surgeries and observed a nurses role in both assistance on the machines and the after care.

I also got plenty of hands-on experience with the infection control aspect of the job by assisting in sterilising equipment, cleaning kennels and catteries as well as the learning applications of a select few cleaning chemicals in maintaining a sterile environment.

CAMBRIDGE TECHNICAL B-TCH IN ICT

This is a vocational course, which enables me to develop a wide range of ICT skills that can be applied in almost any environment.  Due to this course and my previous GCSE course combined with 3 years of employment using computers for bookings I am proficient in ICT and other systems.

A-LEVEL IN DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY/PRODUCT DESIGN

Product design lets me put my creativity into a project and develop it using feedback and self-judgement and showcasing this in a portfolio in which I design products around a client’s requests and using my innovative skills to re-imagine a product, this shows how I effectively improvise, it also allows me to evaluate my performance in everyday tasks with self judgement

CLF POST 16 JOHN CABOT ACADEMY

NATIONAL CERTIFICATE EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN APPLIED SCIENCE B-TECH

This course is a national certificate and it entails 4 coursework units and an exam in the first year, which taught me the applications of science. Firstly, in the coursework I must recount and give a detailed analysis of a practical I had just carried out with points including method, extensive safety specs.  Secondly, the exams feature content from biology, chemistry and physics. I took away from this a very important transferable skill which will help me in my career which is how to sanitize an environment, something I have had plenty of experience doing. Furthermore, my second year consisted of many coursework modules going over human and zoonotic diseases in depth and their counters such as types of medication and preventatives such as cleaning.
