About Massimo Capoccia:

I am an experienced cardiac surgeon with broad training in general cardiac surgery and a specific interest in aortic surgery and mechanical circulatory support.

I have a wide range of skills and knowledge that are a strong match for this role and which I believe they will add value to the Team with a view to build up a long-term relationship. I am result-driven and I always take ownership of difficult challenges in order to find an appropriate solution.

My experience and skills combined with my innovative ideas and problem-solving approach would certainly allow me to make an impact on the future direction of the Department.

I am an approachable and honest but also resourceful, detail-oriented and forward-planning individual who has obtained additional qualifications in the context of a busy professional life.

I am a self-starter and constantly willing to learn and develop personally and professionally, contribute significantly to the service, continue to pursue my research interests and remain a role model for my junior colleagues. I enjoy being part of a team where much more work can be accomplished when everyone pulls together. Nevertheless, I am fully independent whenever required.

I have a science-oriented mind with an academic interest and active involvement in cardiovascular engineering research based on VADs/ECMO modelling, patient-specific modelling to guide therapeutic intervention and training through simulation. More recently, we have focused our attention on the right heart.

I am a strong visionary individual who can motivate and inspire his team to show their best whilst focusing intently on the strategic aims of the Department. I have the determination and vision to engage with forward thinking organisations and contribute to their development. Finally, I deliver what I promise.
