Megan Tusting

Having recently graduated from Leeds Arts University studying Graphic Design, I’m an individual who works well independently and collaboratively on projects. I regard myself as being an organised and efficient worker who thrives in a team environment. My design practice tends to follow a print based theme as I love the range and physical tactility it can offer for a unique user experience. I have a particular passion for music based projects as I like to challenge the relationship between a design’s tone of voice and the style of music. Alongside my design practice and meeting deadlines, previous work experience has provided me with the skill set to work under pressure and multi-task which would transfer well into starting a Junior Graphic Design role.

Freelance Client Work:

VEIN Record Label (2023)

• I was responsible for the branding of the label which included a logo and brand typeface. In addition to this I worked collaboratively on creating the artwork for their first release.

Speed, Trance Event (2023)

• This commission consisted of a poster design for a trance event which took place at Wharf Chambers, Leeds.

Previous Experience:

Retail Assistant, M&S (2022-2023, 6 months)

• My role included organising the store to a high standard to prepare for the next day’s trading as well as serving customers. Working with the evening team, I had to apply an organised approach due to less staff and allocate roles to ensure the job got done
• I gained people skills whilst working with a variety of clientele and learnt how to adapt to a busy and challenging environment

Teaching Assistant/ Work Experience, Barrington Farm Art Barn (2017)

• I worked alongside adults with various learning difficulties to help express themselves creatively through a wide range of media
• The aim was to assist rather than teach and encourage individual talents

Work Experience, Lucas and Western Architects (2016)

• I got an insight into a working office environment
• Assisted on several site visits

Teaching Assistant, Surlingham Primary School Art Club (2013-2015)

• I worked with children in a creative environment, teaching them different artistic techniques through different mediums
• Working with children helped me adapt my communication skills to get a clear message across that was understood by different ages and abilities
