Education

While studying Anatomy and Human Biology at the University of Liverpool, I have undertaken laboratory-based modules which have involved using aseptic technique to culture cells onto agar plates, the use of light microscopes, DNA extraction, as well as performing PCR and gel electrophoresis.

I have done dissections of the thorax, abdomen, and pelvis, which have aided in my learning of anatomy and different dissection techniques as well as how to handle equipment, such as scalpels, safely. Performing solo dissection of the leg and foot required independence and organisation when planning the dissection process to ensure the display of many structures. Moreover, using donated cadavers has highlighted the importance of ethics and professionalism and truly respecting and appreciating those who give to science.

Research and interpretational when completing my dissertation, including performing statistical analysis and visualising data, by using software such as Microsoft and R Studio. I have completed a range of solo and group projects, including writing reports and creating scientific posters, which have further developed my analytical skills and written communication; delivering oral presentations has enhanced my verbal communication skills.
