About Niamh Mccarthy:
As a Team Support Manger at Marks & Spencer convenience Store in Wanstead High Street, London, I have acquired substantial leadership skills which allows me to make everyone work together as a team to get the task done. I will make sure my job is done with diligence and consistency, so it has been accomplished efficiently at a high standard everytime. M&S has allowed me to explore different job roles such as, hospitality, admin, marketing, customer service, finance and applied ICT. I have gained great knowledge and people skills while working at M&S. However, I have taken a career break to expand my knowledge while also giving me the opportunity to enjoy what I am most passionate about; which is volunteering aboard, exploring new cultures and reconnecting with my creative side.
Experience
- Arranged bookings both over the phone & emails, organising them accordingly on EXCEL.
- Replying to discontent customers through email to satisfy their needs to make sure they get the best experience.
- Maintained clean and presentable changing rooms and equipment on the waterpark. Demonstrated genuine hospitality when greeting customers and, attend to any enquires.
- Persuaded locals to buy the companies products or apply for appointments with knowledge of what I was selling.
- Approached people in a enthusiastic and friendly manor to grab their attention. Prepared free gifts and leaflets to give to give out to locals on the streets or events. For example, I worked for Specsavers handing out a free glasses case, along with a leaflet and vouchers. People become more engaged and want to buy which increased the sales.
- Kwantu Game Reserve, South Africa When volunteering aboard I both worked with wild animals and underprivileged children. I helped prepare food and activities for the school children; while also building and maintaining the reserve for a safe place for the animals to live.
- Kids Club, Loughton I worked with children between the age of 4-13. I dealt with registration, admin and organising games and entertainment.
