- I grow a selection of edible flowers, organic fruits, vegetables as a culinary gardener in my spare time. 

- I have had a career in catering. After finding my own counselling useful and fascinating I was inspired to train as a counsellor, with a keen interest in person-centred theory.

I have attended training for safeguarding, suicide awareness, BACP Counselling in NHS Talking Therapies, completed an OPT self assessment assignment. I regularly watch recordings of webinars that interest me such as neurodiversity, ecotherapy and social change. I am well read with interests in violence against women, racism, LGBT rights and class issues.

I have recently completed my studies for the diploma in person-centred counselling. I have continued volunteering at my counselling placement in St Peter’s surgery, Woolston, for two evenings a week. I would like to stay at the placement for as long as I can to because I enjoy the placement thoroughly, and to keep my counselling in practice while I look for a paid role. I enjoy this role particularly because I am very well supported, supervision is provided and I enjoy working in a healthcare setting. 

My other counselling and supportive roles include my counselling placement at Portsmouth University - September 2024 - September 2025; counselling students at the Wellbeing Centre. 

Volunteer at Portsmouth City of Sanctuary – 2023 - a service run for asylum seekers and refugees in need of signposting, casework and community initiatives. Here I was welcoming, signposting, helping to run events such as refugee week and organise other projects.
