Dear manager,

I’m currently a freelance translator where I mainly established short-term and long-term cooperation with Translation Companies from European and China. Before that, I was studying for two master’s degrees in audio-visual translation and international hotel management at the University of Leeds and the University of Surrey respectively, where I sharpened my captioning skills, and known more about the audiovisual industry, and developed my management skills in a strategic way based on my previous work experience as a salesperson. And now I’d love to work as a project manager, applied all my abilities to the new position, and take on more responsibility, which is why I am so excited about this position.

As you will see from my CV, I had 6 years of sales working experience in AstraZeneca and Bayer, and one year of a residential assistant, and the communication skills developed have equipped me with strong listening skills and the ability to understand customer needs. It also demonstrates my self-motivation and my passion to manage multiple tasks, as gaining this qualification took considerable work and dedication. It has, however, enabled me to carry out projects independently and keep my passion for worthwhile work, which is essential for an activity coordinator.

While I have thoroughly enjoyed my master’s study time, I am keen to take on a new challenge and feel this role would offer me a greater opportunity to put my skills and experience to good use. I have been one of the members who have an outstanding eye for detail in class, and over the courses of the last two years I have sharpened my English written and speaking skills, focus, and engagement with the public to keep doing things with a mature and responsible attitude and work independently.

Also, I have been a freelancer of a Chinese translator for three years. I am familiar with the rate for subtitling and specialized translation in China, and how to communicate with freelancers and local translation companies at a proper rate, and meanwhile ensure the translation quality. Based on my previous sales experience, I believe I have a multi-task ability, the insight to notice potential issues, and problem-solving skills. I have a good sense to get support both from the company and the clients, including the co-operators.
