Services offered
Dear Sirs,
Please let me introduce myself, I am Rafael Cartusciello and I am applying for the position offered by your company namely, the vacancy for a Piping Stress Engineer.
In 2010 I obtained my Msc in Pipeline Engineering at Newcastle University where I learned about a series of advances in fracture mechanics, pipeline materials, coatings, external and internal corrosion, corrosion inhibitors, cathodic protection, asset management, design and construction standards for offshore and onshore pipes, pigging, etc, which enable me to solve work problems with a deeper understanding and better criteria.
I have more than 15 years of experience as Piping Stress Engineer. I have worked at top engineering companies around the world such as, in Venezuela at Tecnoconsult and Vepica, in Spain at Foster Wheeler, in Germany at The Dow Chemical Company, and in United Kingdom at Wood plc (before Amec Foster Wheeler), where I feel I have acquired an important amount of knowledge and experience working beside the highest qualified professionals of the industry.
I have worked in FEED, revamping and EPC projects for the Oil and Gas and Chemical onshore Engineering Projects carrying out piping stress analysis using the program Caesar II. These analyses carried out comprised piping layouts connected to different equipments such as pumps, compressors, steam turbines, gas turbines, heat exchangers, vessels, columns, air coolers, relief valves, etc. In order to achieve satisfactory loads in the nozzles of the equipments analyzed, I used the codes: API (610, 617, 650, 676, 661), NEMA SM-23 and WRC (107, 297). In order to obtain acceptable stresses in the piping systems analyzed, I used the codes EN 13480-3, ASME (B31.3, B31.4, B31.8). I also have experience in piping stress calculations with occasional loads such as Seismic, Wind and Relief Valve loads as well as operational Slug Flow forces induced to the pipe. I have checked leakage with the Equivalent pressure method, NC-3658.3, ASME BPVC Sec VIII Div 1 Appendix 2 Method and EN 1591.
I have used supports available in the supports standard or, designed special supports with Autocad or Microstation achieving satisfactory stresses and nozzle loads in the piping systems and equipment modeled.
I have also checked nozzles loads on static equipment with FE-Pipe and Nozzle Pro.
I have led small teams from 1 to 5 people.
I know I will be able to help you to achieve what you want, which is, the successful completion of your projects, and to that end, I promise I will do my best effort to reach the objectives the company sets to get the best results in best time possible.
Looking forward to hear from you,
Rafael Cartusciello
