Rossana Valtes

My practical experience with reception duties and dealing with visitors started when working for a travel agency in Brazil. I dealt directly with arrivals, greeting them and ensuring that they had the best holiday experience when visiting the country. This included making phone calls to place them in hotels as well as organising trips and domestic travel arrangements.

The background to this position is my degree in Tourism.

My career changed into dentistry, but I found that the skills I had used in my former job were equally applicable. 

I had a dental practice in which I performed many roles including manning reception and

maintaining administration. I would take calls, book appointments and ensure patient satisfaction at all stages of their treatment. In addition to the appointment diary, I also maintained office records. 

I currently work as an interpreter in both Portuguese (Brazilian) which is my mother tongue and Spanish. In this role, as in my other careers, I have understood the need to maintain accurate and secure data. In addition, these roles have all involved direct interaction with members of the public, so I am very aware that my behaviour towards them is crucial both in terms of customer satisfaction and representing the company in a positive manner.

I am self-employed, so, in the event that I was considered for the post, I could start at short notice.

I have a full driving licence.

I am computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.

I am used to extended and irregular working patterns as a result of having to deal in the past with patient emergencies at any time of day and, currently, travelling to and from interpreting jobs around the UK.
