Education / Training
About Sara Franks:
I have worked in education for 26 years in both mainstream and SEND. I have worked across all Key Stages from Early Years to Key Stage 5. My last role was as a deputy head in a special school, where my responsibilities included curriculum development, EHCPs, Looked After Children, staffing and being a DDSL to name but a few. I enjoy supporting pupils to enable them to be the best they can be, where they can safely take risks and work towards being independent adults. I work closely with staff, both in my classroom and as a member of the Senior leadership team, to give them the confidence to provide the standard of education that parents, pupils and school expect. I have been responsible for Progress and Data within the school and held teachers to account for the progress of the pupils in their class and worked with the pupils to improve this progress. I have worked with supporting part time/non attending pupils to get back into school work closely with them and their families to improve their attendance. My communication and people-centric nature have afforded me excellent interpersonal skills. I enjoy working collaboratively within a team but am also motivated to work independently and use my initiative. My ability to build strong professional relationships with staff, parents, pupils and multi agency teams, has been a valuable asset throughout my career. Presently I am looking for a change in career where I can use my knowledge and skills in a different environment.
