I am currently working as a Support Manager for an Organisation in the Scottish Borders. We support adults with wide range of learning and physical disabilities. I have been in the role for last 15+ years in Scottis Borders and Yorkshire

I am a resourceful, outcome driven and dedicated Support Manager for The Brothers of Charity Services with 20 years’ experience in the child and adult Social Care sector. With strong people-management skills, I have a successful track record of developing practices that facilitate more efficient positive outcomes, while creating strong cohesive teams capable of independently achieving operational goals.

My work experience to date has equipped me with a firm understanding of all aspects of support to people with a wide range of needs. First-hand experience gained as a Support Worker and then as Supported Living Practitioner laid solid foundations for my further development to a managerial role. Being part of an individual’s life has enabled me to understand the dilemmas and nature of difficulties they face daily. This motivated me to work harder supporting the individual’s and their families to aim towards achieving the best possible outcomes. My close liaison with Care Managers, health professionals and others has led me to design care plans meeting an individual’s current needs, aspirations and reflecting the lifestyle they wish to live. The fulfilment of an individual’s needs of an individual always gives me with a great sense of achievement. The ability to witness and celebrate the little steps, as well as the milestones, comes with years of constant revaluation of my relationships with individuals and my own approach. I am a passionate advocate of Person-Centred Planning and constantly strive to ensure this approach is adopted at all times.

I achieved my HNC in Social Care in 2011 and have completed mandatory training First Aid, Epilepsy, Moving and Handling, Administration of medication and PITN.
