Experience

Prior to being made redundant, I gained much experience at a local charity as a Volunteering Coordinator, where I coordinated 260 volunteers across the UK. My role was wide and varied: ranging from recruiting and training volunteers; to giving presentations and sharing encouragement at events; project planning and organising events; managing stalls and coordinating volunteers to support at festivals; planning, writing and sending out weekly bulk emails on MailChimp to volunteers; writing and editing quarterly newsletters and managing volunteer records on the ThanQ CRM. IT literate with experience in using MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, and QuickBooks.

Before my career at the charity, I gained 13 years experience working in a primary school. Experience in working with and managing a large class of students as well as working 1:1 Working closely with children with Special Educational Needs, being adaptable to meet their varied needs, whilst being patient and tolerant despite having to face very challenging behaviour at times. Gained experience in being able to communicate with sensitivity, kindness and care; being diligent to have a consistent approach. Experience in planning and running interventions and booster lessons for small groups of children. Evidence of being able to help children achieve higher levels and personal goals.
