As an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a strong background in Higher Education, I bring a wealth of experience in student processes and academic administration. My in-depth understanding of student needs, coupled with effective communication skills, enables me to seamlessly collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. Working alongside the FOI and data protection departments has provided me with valuable insights into compliance requirements and the importance of maintaining ethical work practices.

• Assisting the Governance and Planning Department in handling Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Protection Act (DPA/ GDPR) requests.
• Assisting the Governance department regarding equality and diversity matters.
• Coordinating the communication between internal/external departments/institutions/members of the public concerning Freedom of Information (FOI) matters.
• Supported DPO with DP queries giving guidance and recommendations for:
  • Data sharing, reviewing, drafting, and approving 
  • DPIAs, reviewing and making recommendations
  • Contracts clauses – reviewing DC and DP agreements for GDPR and security compliance
  • Staff training in FOI, DPA, DPIAs and ROPA, IAR and IAO and IAA training
  • FOI System development – after reducing the backlog my recommendations were to develop an FOI automated system to deal with logging new requests, capturing the data and then using this data to output to a FOI Disclosure log
  • Developed the FOI System requirements catalogue along with the FOI process map, and further recommendations. 
• Prioritise emails, escalate requests and obtain approvals for Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Protection Act (DPA/ GDPR) requests.
• Overseeing the adherence to all Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Protection Act (DPA/ GDPR) procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate any potential issues that may impact the company's reputation.
• Systematically log and organise all data to ensure it is readily accessible for auditing purposes, while strictly adhering to data protection protocols.
• I adeptly address requester's complaints, identifying suitable solutions while exercising discretion and managing sensitive, confidential information.
