Experience
I worked as an inhouse counsel at Slum2School Africa, a multiple award-winning, volunteer-driven social development organisation. There, I reviewed and provided legal advice on contracts, and tender documents to facilitate the organisation’s operations. I successfully liaised with relevant departments to prepare social projects proposals and reports. Notably, I led a transactions’ negotiation with Love Futbol resulting to the development of a FIFA standard pitch for the Makoko community in Lagos, Nigeria.
In addition to graduating in the top five percent of my class during my LL.B, I have over four years of experience working with domestic and multinational companies in majors on complex cross-border transactions, foreign direct investments, and high stakes contentious matters with one of Nigeria's top law firms. Uniquely, I was an integral member of a team that advised on a few unique projects within Sub-Saharan Africa such as the acquisition of concessions for financing, engineering, rehabilitation, operation and maintenance of the Kano-Maradi standard rail line, Port Harcourt industrial park and Bonny deep seaport. I also rendered restructuring and acquisition advisory services to technological and digital companies in the region.
Education
I recently concluded an LL.M programme in sports law at Nottingham Trent University. My studies largely focused on sports law regulation, commerce and intellectual property, with a strong incline to understanding the sports legal system in the United Kingdom and Europe. I now possess a firm understanding of brand protection, sports data protection, image rights and sportspersons, contract employments in sports, to mention a few.
