About us
As one of the UK’s best-known retailers in tech, we go the extra mile for our customers – online, in-store and in their homes. But we don’t just sell amazing tech. We deliver it, install it, support it and fix it, too. Most important of all, we bring a human touch to tech to make the magic happen for every customer.
We’re proud of the service we deliver across the many different teams that make up our business. And that’s all down to our people, 30,000+ capable and committed colleagues, learning together, growing together, making us amazing and celebrating the wins together.
Ultimately, help is at the heart of our business. Helping everyone enjoy amazing technology. And helping our colleagues find new ways to make the most of their talents, to realise their ambitions as well as ours.
Why join us?
At Currys, we believe in learning together, growing together and celebrating the wins together. In a business of our size and aspirations, there is room to grow in so many directions. We’re here to help you find new ways to make the most of your talents, so you can realise your ambitions and ours.
Rewards and benefits
Our benefits go deeper than just the day-to-day. Our healthcare, life assurance, pension and a bonus plan are highly valued by the team. Plus, Currys colleagues can select from benefits that fit their lifestyle and career, including discounts with a wide range of lifestyle, entertainment and retail brands. There are Currys discounts to tap into too. So, you’ll never be low on tech, and you’ll be the best gift giver in the family!
For more information and tips on what to expect during interview visit our careers site at curryscareers.co.uk
Work perks
There are lots of benefits to being a Currys colleague and our benefits portal houses all the details. There, you’ll find discounts on everything from high street brands to cinema tickets and restaurants. Plus, we know our colleagues love our products, so we offer 10% family and friends discounts at Currys, and mobile discounts of up to 80%.
There are lots of other discounts to tap into too, so you’ll never be low on tech and you’ll be the best gift giver in the family!
‘You’re Electric’
Knowing your efforts are appreciated makes all the difference at work. We believe in celebrating each other, and giving back for all the hard work our team put in. That’s why we have our ‘You’re Electric’ scheme, where colleagues can say a public thank you to each other. Every time a colleague receives a thank you, they get a certain number of points. These points can then be converted into vouchers that can be used with a range of retailers.
…Other benefits
That’s not all! We’ve got a huge bank of benefits to choose from, to fit the priorities in your life and help you plan for the future.
We offer bonuses, pension schemes and a Sharesave scheme, which allows you to invest in company shares for three or five years. We also offer free life assurance and promote living a balanced life with our flexible working opportunities.
Learning
Skills for life
We’re the team that puts the human touch in technology. And that takes skills. People skills, tech skills, life skills. Our colleagues are constantly learning, developing and building their knowledge on our products. A lot of what you can learn are Skills for Life – equipping you with confidence, ability and expertise, useful both in and outside work. We offer the chance to gain accredited qualifications – some are role-specific, while others focus on things like coaching, management and mental health.
Learning on your terms
We’ve transformed learning – giving it an engaging, adaptable structure that fits everyone’s schedule. Our truly blended approach covers on-the-job training, online learning platforms and virtual programmes, as well as our state-of-the-art training facility TheAcademy@FortDunlop, with 15 specially designed environments.
We also have training facilities for our Distribution teams and internal platforms that offer online resources, external training and everything you need to pick up new skills.
Getting the skills
We provide opportunities to gain externally validated accreditations, plus we offer apprenticeships and programmes that help build careers on many levels. Wherever and however our colleagues want their career to grow, we’re there every step of the way. From the very beginning, to being a subject matter expert, to becoming a great manager, a great leader, and a great ambassador.
Learning isn’t something you just switch off one day, it’s always-on and it’ll always be open to everyone.
Wellbeing
Physical wellbeing
Staying fit and healthy looks different for everyone. On a larger scale we sponsor Race to the Stones, an annual two-day 100km ultra challenge, and actively encourage colleagues to sign up to events and activities that support charitable causes – whatever their ability. At a more local level, teams create their own initiatives like charity bike rides, walking challenges and online fitness classes held during lockdown.
Mental wellbeing
Your mind is just as important as your body, and we recognise that. Our intranet hosts our Wellbeing Corner, full of resources and tips to stay well. Our Wellbeing Corner on Workplace is the place to have conversations about how you’re coping. The Aviva Wellbeing app and our Employee Assistance Programme are available to all colleagues too. And we have also made a major investment to train up 450 colleagues as Mental Health First Aiders .
Financial wellbeing
Sometimes we all need a little help managing our money, especially when we’re saving for big life events. We offer specialist support to help you budget confidently and effectively. There are also ways we can help you save the pennies and the pounds. With our Cycle to Work scheme, you can start your day well and get fit while saving. Childcare vouchers soften the financial load, and our Eyecare vouchers are available to keep your eyes monitored, without needing to break the bank.
Culture & Values
Inside our values
At Currys we have three core values. They guide how we behave to help us achieve our vision of ‘We Help Everyone Enjoy Amazing Technology’.
We put our customers first. We win together. We own it.
These values are the glue that bind us together. The first is about understanding our customers, helping them choose the right tech and delivering on our promises. The second is about building a world-class business, celebrating our successes and working together as one team. Our final value is about taking charge of our future to make sure we stay the UK’s best-known retailer in tech.
Inclusion and diversity
We’re 30,000+ colleagues from different backgrounds, experiences, ethnicities, sexualities and genders. Every voice has a space at our table, and we encourage colleagues to engage with our diversity networks and keep important conversations moving in the right direction.
We celebrate diversity through regular calendar events like Black History Month, and we invest in partnerships including everywoman and the Business Disability Forum. Our leadership is inclusive, and we take action to change through regular forums.
Sustainability
We’re proud to be the biggest recycler of waste electricals in UK Retail. In 202, we reused and refurbished 2.5k tonnes of electricals and recycled 5.6k tonnes of cardboard packaging.
Our planet matters to us, and we’re always striving for ways we can improve, from recycling and reusing to considering the most environmentally friendly ways to package our products. Beyond that, we’ve committed to switching our commercial fleet to electric and alternative fuel vehicles by 2030.
