    Description
    Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust

    You will have the opportunity to base in Carlisle or Workington to deliver high quality care to patients across North Cumbria.

    You will provide evidence based occupationally focussed assessments and interventions to patients with complex needs with the ability to recognise and anticipate situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of service users and their carers.

    The service follows the model of human occupation and the framework for assessment formulation and care planning. You will be supported by more senior Occuptational Therapists in the team. And if newly qualified, you will be supported through the multiprofessional preceptorship programme.

    To provide occupational therapy input to service users who have a variety of occupational needs, which have been impacted by their crisis.

    This may include a diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, cognitive and/or learning disabilities under the direction of a more experienced member of Occupational Therapy staff.

    To consider carer needs and ensure carer and family are involved in intervention planning where appropriate.
    To develop and deliver evidenced based Occupational Therapy interventions in collaboration with service users and carers where appropriate.

    The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence.

    To liaise with other occuptaional therapy colleagues in other services to ensure occupational needs are promoted and met.

    Recognised Occupational Therapy degree qualification / Registered with HCPC
    Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy
    Previous experience of working in a community setting.
    Knowledge of working in a mental health setting
    Skills in being able to assess and manage risk

    This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
