    Description

    Join our team at Wales & Western as a Fleet Manager!

    To provide a top-notch fleet management service within the region, ensuring legal compliance and safety for drivers and vehicles. Your role involves maintaining vehicles and drivers to meet Network Rail Health & Safety standards and industry regulations.

    The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in road vehicles, including fleet operations, operator's license expertise, new vehicle conversions, fleet optimization, telematics, and driver training, all supported by exceptional analytical skills.

    Wales & Western is a DVSA Approved Driver Training Centre for DCPC, which you will oversee as the appointed operators license manager for the region. The location can be flexibly anywhere in the Wales & Western area.

    About the role:

    • Undertake the role of the responsible person for Network Rail's Operators License (DVSA).
    • Conduct audits on the fleet and locations as per guidelines.
    • Manage the driver pool in terms of legality, hours, training, and development.
    • Support investigations into driving/vehicle incidents. Identify high-risk drivers and promote safe driving practices.
    • Provide risk-based analysis of fleet-related risks and maintain the agreed fleet size.
    • Review vehicle selection and use for the area.
    • Optimize resource utilization while minimizing costs.
    • Oversee team engagement, development, and implement improvement initiatives.

    Requirements:

    • National CPC Transport Manager Holder.
    • Experience in fleet audits, safety investigations, and transport regulations.
    • Knowledge of relevant railway geography.
    • Ability to work under pressure and make prompt decisions.
    • Experience in fleet management role.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities.
