Finance Business Partner - Caerphilly - Hybrid working

A true finance business partner role analysing all aspects of our traded fibre business.

This is a varied role working to ensure fibre that enters our Kemsley Mill is the best quality, at the best price we can secure it for.

Working closely with the businessdevelopment team to support the bids and tenders process, you will be business partnering the directors for both Sales & Purchasing whilst supporting the divisional Managing Director.


We are looking for a hands-on, commercially focused Finance Business Partner to be based on site 2 days per week.

You will be an experienced finance lead within a large multi-million-pound operation, supporting the Senior Leadership Teams on-site to deliverkey financial objectives.

As a trusted business partner, you will contribute to strategic decision making, challenging processes and operational management to drive improvement, maximise profitability and limit risk.


Key Responsibilities of the role:


  • Provide insight to Senior Management Team (SMT) in understanding management data and the key business drivers and business risk in their respective areas
  • Assist in delivering financial performance whilst constructively challenging the SMT to understand and manage their cost base
  • Support the business development team by providing robust financial information and costing methodologies for new business opportunities
  • Manage and control intercompany transactions, complying with group transfer pricing policies
  • Prepare monthly management accounts & analyse data alongside the key operational statistics to support the financial reporting provided by the SSC
  • Provide insightful commentary to support and explain the monthend numbers and variances
  • Prepare monthly forecasts and annual budget and bridges to forecast, budget and prior year to explain, demonstrate and understand the key variances to the actuals submitted
  • Contribute effectively to the development of the business plan, alongside the SMT and Financial Controller
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to drive cost reduction initiatives, whilst recognizing opportunities to create benefits
  • Cultivate a detailed system understanding to be able to interrogate the financial numbers
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the Group Accounting Policies and Governance requirements, maintaining robust internal controls & supporting the business to ensure compliance
  • Line management responsibility for the Business Partner Assistant roles, supporting their development and growth
  • Qualified or Part Qualified accountant with an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA equivalent qualification
  • Exceptional Stakeholder management with the ability to effectively tailor communication to your audience
  • Track record of delivering results under demanding deadlines
  • Ability to influence
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive action from analysis
  • The ability to maintain oversight whilst drilling down into the detail
  • Inquisitive with a solution focused mindset and a "can do" attitude
  • Manufacturing background advantageous but not essential
  • Experience of using an ERP and other bolton systems desirable
  • Intermediate/advanced excel skills
