We are now investing in our Estates team in both strategic project management and in the day to day management of our maintenance and buildings.

Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is the biggest provider of healthcare services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Our three main sites are Royal Cornwall Hospital Truro, St Michael's Hospital Hayle and West Cornwall Hospital Penzance, our staff and services are available across the region.

We work with health and social care organisations -including NHS Kernow and NHS England- to ensure local healthcare needs are met.

We provide acute medical, surgical and specialist services to around 500,000- which can increase significantly during busy holiday periods.

The Trust has teaching hospitals status as part of the University of Exeter Medical School.

Minimum degree level (or equivalent) qualification in a building service and/or construction safety related discipline (Fire safety Design, Inspection and project delivery).

Membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g., Institution of Chartered Surveyors or Engineers, institute of Fire Engineers MIFireE minimum grade or equivalent Fire specialism)
Commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) beyond degree level

Operational Provisions

Demonstrable experience at working as a senior operational or strategic manager in your field of expertise
High level of experience of working in a senior estate's role managing capital projects
Fully conversant with Technical drawings and building notes
Council, Departmental Directorate, Enforcing Authorities, HSE, Building Safety Regulator, Trust Board, Patient Groups
Business case development for major projects
Understanding risk and management systems
Effective budget management skills, and experience of managing high value budgets on time, and within allocated resources
Experience in design and remediation of Fire compartmentation in complex buildings
Experience of interpreting Department of Health policies, fire legislation, design, and technical memorandum
