Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently supporting our client in the search for a Vehicle and Airfield Support Equipment Team Electricians.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Vehicle and Airfield Support Equipment Team Electricians:

Maintenance and rectification of the company's aircraft refuelling vehicles, fuel transfer vehicles, cargo lifting platforms and associated equipment.
Maintenance and rectification of all nonpowered Airfield Support Equipment including but not limited to; Aircraft Towing arms, cargo pallet dollies (trailers), aircraft jacks, Working at Height Personal Protective Equipment, Lifting Equipment and slings,access staging, oxygen gaseous equipment nitrogen trolleys and aviation support equipment such as aircraft tyre bead breakers.
Ensure compliance with relevant Quality Systems.
Ensure appropriate cooperation and support to internal, external and independent audit activities.
Follow the company's "Zero Harm" Open Reporting Safety Culture where all individuals are willing and able to report any issue or event which they believe has or could potentially lead to a Safety risk.
Support Continuous Improvement to ensure that the teams drive for effectiveness, efficiency and improvements in the output and working environment.
Runway Arrestor Gear Daily Checks and Maintenance (Training will be provided).
Standby out of hours commitment standby at home Mon-Fri.
Standby weeks (including Sat & Sun Runway Arrestor Gear Daily Checks) are an occasional commitment shared between the team.

Skills and Qualifications:

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle / Technical Maintenance arena.
Three years of experience in the Vehicle Maintenance or Mechanical Equipment Arena or equivalent. (Transferable skills from HGV, Vehicle, Plant Fitter, Aviation maintenance arena are all appropriate).
Ability to effectively and safely complete maintenance and rectification tasks.
Functional IT skills to use Electronic Technical Manuals and to update Maintenance Recording systems.
Be an excellent team player with a "cando safely" approach to work.
Must have high standards of oral and written communication skills.
Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to achieve MoD Security Clearance.
Ability to integrate into teams.
The ability to understand, implement and to adhere to Technical Work Procedures, Health & Safety Instructions and Operating Procedures.
