RMS International is an expanding importer of innovative children's toys, crafts and stationery, both licensed and own brand that are sold throughout the world in key markets.
The Role
The role is to support the buying team with supplier communications and administrative duties.
Operational - Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining a thorough and up to date knowledge of the relevant market including key competitors and current market trends.
- Provide administrative support to the department.
- Opening new supplier accounts
- Create new product codes
- Manage the critical path
- Creating precise product specifications
- Arrange customer samples / mock ups with the studio.
- Putting together PowerPoint and Excel documents as needed for presentations/quotations and product specifications required by the customer.
- Product development
- Working with the buyers to identify new trends and products to compliment the RMS portfolio.
- Brief in new artwork and arrange samples.
- Develop the item from concept to production.
- Liaise with QC to ensure products are processed and fit for use.
- Liaise with QC to ensure factories have been audited / inspected
- Place approved purchase order and liaise with suppliers and shipping, alerting all relevant parties in good time if a problem / delay occurs.
- Achieve deadlines
People
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all departments internal and external colleagues in order to maintain effective communication amongst cross functional departments.
- Work as part of a team providing support and training to team members where necessary
- Contribute to development sessions
Other
- Have a clear understanding of the company's policies and how purchasing contributes to these
- Be proactive in problem solving
- Proficient use of Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Dynamics NAV
- Maintain standards of health and safety and general housekeeping
- Maintain and continuously improve own knowledge of systems and company procedures
- Work positively with others to seek out best solutions
- Any other reasonable task
- Ad hoc projects
