Community Clerk

Penylan Nursing Home, Cardiff

£12,720 per annum

22.5 hours a week


The opportunity:


This exciting post will play a crucial role in assisting our nursing staff to deliver the highest standards of person centered clinical care.

The Community Clerk will provide day to day operational administration support to the Registered Nurses and Management team.

You will be responsible for coordinating, collating and providing all administration and paperwork required by Head Office, Nursing Home and external parties in relation to clinical related tasks.

You will be an integral part of our nursing home operation that we cannot live without

The main duties of this role include:

  • Scheduling staff onto classroom trainings and issuing reminders to staff to complete their e-learnings
  • Coordinating the completion of competency assessments with the relevant personnel
  • Signing care staff up to QCF providers and completing reviews
  • Coordinating the completion of documentation in relation to supporting and developing staff, including staff supervision & appraisal
  • Coordinate and assist with the registration of Care Staff with Social Care Wales
  • Provide support to the clinical team in relation to referrals to dieticians, SALT, opticians, chiropodist etc
  • Coordinating the reviews of clinical information, including care plan reviews and care plan declarations
  • Liaising with surgeries to arrange GP visits to the nursing home and collection of prescriptions
  • Liaising with the pharmacy to resolve medication queries

What we need from you:

  • Strong administrative, organisational, and problemsolving skills are essential.
  • We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing excellent customer service.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, relatives, suppliers, and other key stakeholders will be key in this role.
  • Strong IT skills are required to ensure the home runs smoothly.
  • You will be able to demonstrate a professional, sensitive manner, the ability to prioritise and good organisational skills to ensure that the home runs smoothly.
  • The successful applicant will have previous clerical experience working with members of the public, ideally in a healthcare environment.

If successful, there will be an option to work an additional 16.5 hour/week care shifts on rolling rota during the period of covering community clerk post.
