    Description

    About the Role

    The post holder will be joining the Centre for Preventive Neurology at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, Queen Mary University of London. They will work within the Parkinson`s disease (PD) group, whose studies focus on the clinical, genetic and biomarker aspects in people with PD and at risk of PD.

    The post holder will work on the Parkinson`s Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI study), and linked studies such as Smell Test Direct (ST Direct), both funded by the Michael J Fox Foundation. PPMI is a large-scale study creating an open-access data set and biosample library to accelerate scientific breakthroughs and treatments in PD.

    About You

    Candidates must be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or have equivalent experience. Key responsibilities will be to coordinate study visits and participant flow between the studies, in addition to overseeing sample collection and completion of recruitment targets. The post will also involve liaison with participants, researchers, and key stakeholders, with appropriate delegation to other administrative staff. The post-holder will be a key member of the PPMI and ST Direct team, and wider prodromal Parkinson's disease team at QMUL.

    The Centre for Preventive Neurology is at the forefront of international research and brings together an expert team to carry out revolutionary new research into Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease. The centre's focus is on academic discipline, research, the translation of research into health strategies and their practical implementation.

    The post is based in Charterhouse Square. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 12 months. The salary will be Grade 4 at £38,165 - £40,233 (depending on experience) per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
