    Description

    Do you have mechanical engineering experience, and are you seeking a new job in Portsmouth? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit a full-time Mechanical Fitter, and the role comes with an attractive salary, overtime, shift allowance and benefits.

    As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of Royal Naval Warships.

    In your first few weeks in this Mechanical Fitter role, you can expect to:

    Carry out a trade-specific risk assessment before every task, reporting any accidents and near misses via the necessary SHE process
    Carry out planned and reactive maintenance overhaul and repair as detailed by the team leader on a variety of mechanical equipment machinery and systems on vessels
    Remove, overhaul, repair, install and test mechanical equipment, machinery and systems.

    To apply for this Mechanical Fitter role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

    NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds level 3, BTEC ONC or relevant experience
    Comfortable with working at height and in confined spaces.
