About the Platform Portability Team
Our mission is to help Roku scale by enabling Roku OS to run on more and more devices and extend our reach.
We work closely with other teams within Roku and our silicon partners to enable them to effectively develop, test, and maintain device platforms at scale.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced full-stack web engineer to work on our partner facing web portal.
In this position you will be part of a team responsible for the architecture, technical roadmap, delivery and operation of a web application which enables us to work effectively with partners who are bringing up Roku OS on new hardware.
What you will be doingHands-on coding in a range of technologies across the full stack of a modern web application deployed in the Cloud
Defining application architecture and selecting frameworks, libraries and cloud-based technologies that solve business problems
Contributing to adoption of best practices in design, implementation and operation of web applications
Participating in an Agile development process, including scoping, technical design, estimation effort, coding, testing, debugging, code reviews, maintenance, and support
We're excited if you have
5+ years of full-stack development with modern web/cloud technologies
3+ years of experience back-end development in Python/Flask, , etc.
2+ years of JavaScript front-end frameworks e.g. React, Angular, Ember, etc.
2+ years of experience in running applications in AWS/Azure/GCP
Experience with Cloud Computing, REST APIs, and microservice architectures
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker
Proven track record of success with web application development and deployment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
