    Veterinary Nurse Registrar

    Since its opening in 2009, Yorkshire Wildlife Park has evolved to become the UK's number 1 on-foot safari. We feature walkthrough exhibits that take the guest directly into the world of the animals. A dynamic centre for conservation and welfare, the park currently has over 400 animals across more than 70 different species. We aim to provide a quality, value for money experience that excites and inspires our guests.

    A unique opportunity has arisen for a RCVS qualified Veterinary Nurse Registrar to join YWP's expanding animal department. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the veterinary surgeon and senior management teams to support the veterinary care of all animals within the park. They will have a diligent approach to their work and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all legislative and accreditation required documentation is kept up to date.

    The Veterinary Nurse Registrar will have the opportunity to work with YWP's iconic species and will have a passion for continuous professional development. YWP will fund RCVS and BVZS fees and will support the individual to achieve their CPD objectives.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the veterinary care of the animals in the park, under the guidance of the veterinary surgeons.
  • Support the Head of Animals with the transport logistics and documentation of animals into and out of the collection.
  • Assist with the veterinary record keeping and have oversight of the ZIMS database.
  • Work with the Director of Animals to ensure all licensing and accreditation required documentation is kept up to date.

  • Must enjoy both administrative and practical work.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be flexible and able to work during our peak times which include weekends, bank holidays and school holidays.
