Where you'll be working
As a Distribution and Transmission Network Operator, SP Energy Networks keeps the electricity flowing to homes and businesses throughout Central and Southern Scotland, North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire, and North Shropshire.
One of only six Distribution Operators and one of four Transmission Operators in the UK, our actions are crucial to the decarbonisation of the network.
The energy landscape is changing fast as the way our customers and communities generate, consume, and interact with energy evolves.
Our role is to decarbonise our network through technology and innovation to support the journey to Net Zero.We need to maximise the efficiency of our network to optimise the transmission and distribution of electricity generated from renewables, reducing electricity losses, and allowing us to move away from fossil fuels.

Within the Centre of Excellence (CoE), you will have the opportunity to experience various projects across the different Value Streams within the team.
The Value Streams within the CoE are:
Customer Management will provide you with invaluable experience in building strong relationships and managing digital solutions to allow us to deliver exceptional service to our customers.
Customers' expectations have changed through using digital services in all aspects of daily life therefore our customers will expect digitally enabled channels and self-service options when interacting with us.
Your involvement and input in these projects will enhance our ability to provide first-class support and ensure customer satisfaction.
Work & Asset Management is where you will be involved in the automation of processes, working with global teams to bring efficiencies to the system and the implementation of fault location technology and predictive analytics to increase network asset resilience and accelerate our response to outages.
Regulatory & Key Systems gives you insight into the intricate world of regulations and the systems that underpin our operations, understanding compliance and key systems.
Smart Network Visibility will provide the opportunity to immerse yourself in cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions that greatly enhance the efficiency and reliability of our network.
GIS & Mobility will allow you to explore the power of geographic information systems and their significant contribution to the smooth operation of our infrastructure.
You'll learn how GIS technology enables us to effectively manage and analyse spatial data, improving decision-making processes and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
You will also gain an understanding of the tools and technologies that are utilised within the field by our operational staff.
Data & Analytics will give you the opportunity to be involved in projects that span across the business and ensure that we have the ability to utilise the data within our organisation to effectively operate at an optimum level.
