    Community Mental Health Nurse/Practitioner Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust

If so, we have an exciting opportunity especially for you, to join the Community CAMHS team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust as a Community CAMHS Mental Health Nurse / Practitioner.

    Through the transformation of our Core CAMHS delivery model, we are expanding the service to recruit additional posts, who will work as valued members of our team to offer specialist assessment, group work and goal-based interventions to children and young people with mental health difficulties. In addition to offering direct work, you will be working collaboratively with other services, to develop a shared understanding of the young person's needs, to promote quality of life and emotional wellbeing throughout their CAMHS journey.

    Our team work closely together, enjoying the ability to share multi-disciplinary expertise and resources to deliver a first-class, high-quality service. To do this, we are making improvements to our service to ensure there is the investment in our delivery model and staff by offering excellent supervision and training to deliver the service we want for children and young people attending mental health services.

    Main duties of the job

    Working in an outpatient setting at one of our Community CAMHS sites at Centenary House or Becton Centre. You will be supported by your team and the wider Trust in joining to meet; with a number of established forums in place to provide professional support, development, and clinical supervision, including daily multi-disciplinary Huddles. In addition, there are opportunities to progress beyond Band 6 and into more specialist posts within the CAMHS structure.

    Working autonomously within Sheffield Community CAMHS as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering assessment, group work, and high-quality goal-based intervention to young people and their families, enhancing access and collaboration throughout their patient journey.

    Offering direct work over a range of evidence-based interventions, you will be working collaboratively with other services, to develop a shared understanding of the young person's needs and promote quality of life and emotional wellbeing throughout their journey. You will work in collaboration with colleagues in the network to provide holistic packages of care.

    Person Specification Qualifications and Training

    • RMN / RN (Mental Health), Occupational Health Therapist, Social Worker
    • Post registration clinical training relevant to CAMHS / Mental Health
    • Degree in relevant subject
    • Additional vocational training courses (Solution focused, CBT, Motivational interviewing)

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Broad knowledge and application of assessments and a range of therapeutic interventions deliverable to young people and families
    • Knowledge of a legal frameworks and practice relevant to CAMHS
    • Application of Health, Safety and Risk Management policies.
    • IT literacy
    • Research and audit.
    • Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance and its application.
    • An interest in the appropriate National Service Framework for the clinical area, and government policies and guidelines.

    • Hold a current UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle

    Experience

    • Significant Post registration experience within a CAMHS / Mental Health setting
    • Experience of multi-agency liaison
    • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
    • Experience of mental health assessment, treatment, and evaluation
    • Experience of group work
    • Supervision of less experienced staff
