    Delivery Manager – Data Ops

    Location: Hybrid - London

    Package: Negotiable + Benefits

    Data and Data services is a key strategic enabler in Brown and Brown Europe as we look to integrate acquired business, enable them to provide great customer service and grow through the provision of superior data services

    The Delivery Manager for Data Operations is responsible for ensuring the successful and timely delivery of data to the business. You will lead a team of Brown & Brown data specialists, manage resources, act as a bridge between data operations team and business stakeholders, work with the wider data team to provide a seamless service to business stakeholders.

    The day to day:

    You will be an experienced leader who specialises in delivering Data Projects using Agile delivery methods and the Data Operations function. Your primary responsibilities will include:

    • Operational Leadership: Overseeing data operation function and consistent delivery of data in a timely manner. This includes building robust processes and procedures, overseeing of operational jobs, service requests and incidents.
    • Team Management: Leading and motivating a team of data analysts, engineers, and other specialists. You'll delegate tasks, ensure effective communication, and foster a collaborative work environment.
    • Stakeholder Management: Working closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and be the point of escalation to ensure their expectations are met.
    • Resource Management: Optimizing the use of data expertise within the team, balancing ongoing tasks with service demands.
    • Data Delivery: Ensuring data is delivered accurately, efficiently, and according to agreed-upon timelines and quality standards. Observability and service delivery metrics to be implemented.
    • Communication & Collaboration: Serving as a central point of contact for all data operations activities. You'll clearly communicate progress, roadblocks, and solutions for activities within the remit of the data operations team to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Team Player – Building a highly engaged and effective data operations squad, that operates well within and aligns to the wider European Data tribe, and Group Data team. You will leverage and contribute to best practices in data operations.

    About you:

    • Experience as a Delivery Lead / Data Operations in data operations function in a large organisation
    • Experience within technology software / data engineering / data operations
    • Delivering a robust and reliable data operations function for mission critical data
    • Operating within robust data governance principles – metadata, discovery, tagging and classification, quality, catalogues, inventory and data lineage
    • Service management and running of data platforms leveraging robust processes and frameworks eg. ITIL.
    • Implementing procedures for effective data management, reliable data operations, timely and consistent delivery of accurate data to business users.
    • Working with Azure Dev Ops and ServiceNow, including deriving analytical information
    • Data engineering design patterns and best practice, including data pipelines.
    • Microsoft stack - Azure Data factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Server, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Power Platform, Power BI.
