Are you an experienced Process Plant Operator looking for a new opportunity at a newly refurbished recycling facility?


We are looking for someone who is confident in their ability, who can communicate effectively, and has the ability to understand performance data and use it to optimise the operations of the plant.

Working within a supportive team you will operate the plant and machinery to ensure operational performance targets are achieved.


Attention to detail will be key, along with the ability to problem-solve and think ahead to recognise any potentially issues that may arise and suggest solutions and preventative measures.


The main purpose of the role is to ensure the plant operates within all key plant performance metrics whilst adhering to all health and safety and environmental requirements.


Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Process Plant Operator will operate and manage the process and machinery of the waste recycling plant.

This includes the safe start-up and shut down of the plant and continual monitoring of conveyors and separation equipment for blockages and reduced efficiency.

The Process Plant Operator will report issues to the Site Supervisory and Maintenance team.


Main Duties of a Process Plant Operator:

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with all relevant health & safety legislation and company policies.
  • Start, stop, and monitor the waste recycling plant assets via a SCADA system to ensure the site meets its operational targets.
  • Utilise the plant data and reports to ensure the plant is constantly optimised to meet operational metrics.
  • Report on the performance of the plant and raise potential issues with the Shift Supervisor.
  • Participate in problemsolving activities to enhance plant performance.
  • Perform and support plant preventative maintenance in coordination with our engineers.

Additional Information:


We are looking to move to 7 days of operation in the near future, with the shift pattern changing to a 4 on 4 off pattern.


Shift pattern:
45 hours per week over a dayshift and back shift rotation - 05:30-15:00 / 14:00-23:00. Occasional weekends maybe required.

Essential Skills:


  • Knowledge of process optimisation of plant and systems.
  • Experience with monitoring of supervisory and control systems.
  • Ability to respond and react positively under pressure.
  • Operational experience in manufacturing processing, energy from waste, water treatment or heavy industry would be advantageous.
