Are you a Training Safety Advisor looking for a new opportunity?

We also provide personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society.

Working with our staff, cadets, and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.

We are currently looking for a Training Safety Advisor to join our team in Portsmouth


Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of a relevant and effective safety management system for Sea Cadet Corps (SCC) Units and other SC facilities and guidance to Units on all aspects of this system, to ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, MoD and SCC regulations.
  • Coordination of all aspects of the management, provision, replacement and accounting of relevant stores, boats, weapons, and ammunition where relevant to ensure that Units in the Area have the capacity to train efficiently and safely.

Requirements:


  • Incident management, investigation, and reporting.
  • Implementing Health and Safety systems.
  • Training, guidance, and support of nonspecialist staff in safety and assurance requirements.
  • Undertaking health and safety risk assessments and working within a formal assurance framework.
  • Hold NEBOSH qualification or equivalent; or working towards. (Must successfully complete within probationary period if not already qualified).

Desirable

  • Have experience/knowledge of uniformed and/or youth organisations.
  • Have experience of weapons management, boat inspection and stores management.
  • Experience of working with young people and awareness of safeguarding issues

Salary:
£29,500.00 per year
