    Description

    A great opportunity has arisen in our head office in the beautiful market town of Kendal in Cumbria and within our Legal Team for a Senior Lawyer to lead on the Council'sCommercial work.

    To be a success in our Legal Team you will have experience as a Commercial Solicitor and have knowledge in:
    Drafting and reviewing contract terms and conditions including framework agreements
    Ideally you will have experience of working in a local authority and/or knowledge of local authority governance. Knowledge and experience of dealing with company law would be desirable.

    You must have good IT literacy skills and an ability to use electronic publications for the purpose of legal work and research are critical.

    Other duties will include dealing with a range of matter including providing advice to officers and elected members, advising on legal implications in Committee, Council and Cabinet reports, attending Council Committees and working groups as required.
