Introduction
The role of the SMT Process Technician is to provide support to the SMT Engineer to ensure that all products & processes are running to Departmental standards and control limits.
Requirements of the role
- Support to the SMT Engineer for ensuring that all products and processes are running to Departmental standards and control limits, and detailing any adjustments made.
- Ensuring that all SMT and auxiliary equipment are efficiently changed over and setup for the scheduled products in line with the Departmental procedures.
- Support to the SMT Engineer during any fault analysis and repairs on Departmental equipment.
- Undertaking our planned maintenance schedules to the specified procedure (including any modifications made on a weekly basis) in a timely and organised fashion. (minor and major service etc.)
- Provision of Departmental reports on spares usage during maintenance periods, to maintain sparepart stock levels and to highlight particular areas of concern or areas for improvement to either the SMT Engineer or Process Engineering Manager.
- Comply with all appropriate Health & Safety requirements
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Qualifications/Skills/Personal Qualities - CORE
- An ability to meet tight deadlines
- Good mechanical dexterity and the ability to understand equipment technical drawings
- To be prepared to undertake further vocational training through internal or external courses
- Good understanding of Electronic products
- Good communication skills
- IT skills within Excel, Word & company specific systems
- To be committed to continuous improvement
- Have a professional and accurate approach to work
- Disciplined, responsible and enthusiastic
- Experience of working within an engineering environment
Qualifications/Skills/Personal Qualities - Desireable
- Indentured mechanical/electrical apprenticeship
- Be prepared to undertake further vocational training for internal or external courses.
- Have a professional and accurate approach to work
- Good time management.
- Be prepared to work overtime where and when applicable.
- Be prepared to travel where and when applicable
