Director of Operations - Animal Welfare


A fantastic new opportunity has become available for a Director of Operations with experience within the animal welfare sector to work for one of the UK's top animal welfare charities based in Watford, committed to improving the lives of the UK's pets and striving to give every animal the best chance of finding a new home.

Salary:
£53,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience plus £5,000 car allowance

About the role:


The Director of Operations is responsible for delivering our client's strategic aims through a team of just over 100 employees, as well as a significant number of volunteers across their five rescue and re-homing centres and supporter groups.


Critical to success in the role is the ability to understand all aspects of the charity's operational activities and to plan, lead and achieve continuous improvement in their rescue, rehoming and preventative work, as well as maintaining high standards of animal welfare and customer service.


About you:
The ideal person for this role will have a strong track record of management and leading teams through periods of significant change, you will also have experience in the following:
*The ability to continuously improve delivery of services in line with ongoing trends in the animal welfare sector, overseeing various initiatives relating to animal rehoming and preventative action.
*Significant Senior management experience.
*Experience in managing diverse operations across multi-site locations.
*Excellent communication and customer care skills.
*Demonstrable evidence of management of health & safety in the workplace.
*The ability to develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures robust enough to be open to external scrutiny.
*The ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.
*Experience within an animal organisation would be beneficial for this role.
