Project Worker Part Time

Merchants Terrace, Kings Lynn

£12.50 per hour, effective from 1 April 2024

22.5 hours per week - 3 days a week, rolling rota including weekends and bank holidays

We are seeking a resilient, empathetic Project Worker to join our team at Merchants Terrace.

At Merchants Terrace we are passionate about supporting people to live as independently as possible and to lead fulfilling lives.

We provide support to people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.


We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Supporting our customers to maximise their independence and move forward with their lives
  • Assisting with assessing customers' needs by writing and updating customer notes
  • Being a first point of call to receive and direct all customers queries
  • Developing good relationships with customers, helping them develop life skills
  • Working with external agencies such as mental health and drug and alcohol professionals to support customers in accessing specialised support services
  • Handling occasional emergency/challenging situations
  • Going above and beyond to ensure an excellent service is provided to our customers
  • Working as part of a team with occasional lone working
  • Managing any safeguarding or serious incidents

Skills and experiences:


  • Previous experience working with vulnerable adults, people with mental health needs or substance misuse is essential
  • Experience in support planning, key working, risk assessment and safeguarding
  • Positive approach to challenging behaviour
  • Experience of motivating and encouraging individuals to reach their goals
  • Good interpersonal, customer care and communication skills
  • Ability to use IT systems confidently
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
