Luddon Construction Ltd is an extremely successful and reputable Civil Engineering, Building and Surfacing Contractor based in Glasgow, with operations and projects now spanning throughout the whole of the UK.


We are recruiting for an experienced, self-motivated and confident
Quality Assurance Support Advisor to join our Health and Safety team based at our Glasgow Head Office.

The
Quality Assurance Support Advisor will advise site management on all QA matters and to keep the Compliance Manager as well as the HSEQ Manager fully apprised of the QA performance of our construction sites in relation to achievement of the Quality Policy objectives and Management System Targets and Objectives.


As a Quality Assurance Support Advisor your responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure the correct implementation of all Quality Systems documentation in line with processes, best practice standards and in line with company operational activities.
  • Prepare, review and update management systems, documentation in line with relevant ISO standards.
  • Develop and implement audit programmes for the management systems and business processes.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager to maintain ISO and other registrations/accreditations for quality, environmental and health & safety management systems.
  • Conduct internal and external audits and inspections on both our company and suppliers and make manageable recommendations to ensure ongoing compliance with legislation and standards.
  • Provide QA advice prior to, during and on completion of construction projects.
  • Prepare internal management system reports including summary statistics on management systems performance.
  • Assist in the maintenance of defect and nonconformance schedules and help to close out issues raised.
  • Assist in the scheduling and maintenance of the customer complaints schedule and the closing out process.
  • Management of subcontractor/supplier prequalification systems, including reviewing prequalification submissions and carrying out audits.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the company HSEQ Improvement Strategy and take ownership of the Quality Section of the plan and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Advise company Directors and management on all aspects of Quality, including changes in standards which may affect operations.
  • Report and investigate all incidents and nonconformances with a view to suggesting improvements to working practices and preventing recurrence.
  • Organise, develop and deliver QA training and toolbox talks.
  • Participate in the Client Quality Meetings for promotion of the Company.
  • Prepare internal management system reports including summary statistics on management systems performance.
  • Assist in the maintenance of defects and nonconformance schedules and help closing out of issues raised. Assist in the scheduling and maintenance of the customer complaints schedule and in the closing out process. Liaising with internal and external parties on matters associated with management systems.

For our Quality Assurance Support Advisor role we are looking for the following Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • ISO (9001, 14001 and/or Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification
  • UK Driving Licence
  • Experience of working in a Quality Assurance Advisor role.
  • Experienced in the development and implementation of Quality Assurance and Environmental Management systems.
  • Experience in construction or civil engineering standards and techniques.
  • Experience in compiling dashboards/ KPI reports and provide accurate data.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, British Standards and Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.


  • IT literacy

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to internal and external customer service.
  • Ability to develop positive and productive working relationships with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to work autonomously to deliver the internal audit programme across the company's operations in Scotland and Northern England, including travel.
  • Commitment to continued professional development.

Desirable

  • Membership of professional institutions, such as ICE, IEMA, IOSH,CQI.
  • HNC, HND or Degree in Engineering discipline.
  • Experienced in the development and implementation of Health & Safety and Rail Management Systems.
  • Experience within the construction industry.
  • Experience of working with external regulatory authorities such as SEPA, HSE and ORR.
  • Expertise in data analysis and presentation.
